Green Affairs
July 20th, 2008 Posted in UncategorizedA friend who is a landscape designer has joined forces with Artiflora to create a small niche company called Green Affairs. Together we design, create and launch weddings and other special events that merge inside floral design with outside landscaping. Just recently, we completed a woodlands garden theme for a lovely wedding here in Granville. Inside, the table centerpieces were formed from a three-inch slice of cherry wood. On that base sat a shapely piece of driftwood surrounded with the roots of a live orchid, mosses, fern fiddle heads and orchid blooms. Above 15-18″ blooms of the Phalenopsis Orchid, a white “moth orchid” floated. Tiny lights, hidden in the mosses, brought a fairy-like quality to the tables. Other pieces at the wedding ceremony and reception, including the bouquets, followed this woodsy, fairyland-like theme. Outside, a sprawling portal hung with 20′ long juniper roots framed by tall trees and covered at the base with sprawling mosses and plants. Giant white Soji lanterns hung from the balcony and archways leading to the entrance. The event was striking, inside and out. Contact us for further information on Green Affairs if you are preparing for an event in Licking County, Ohio.
